Evelyn Alice (Simonson) Wilde

Evelyn Alice (Simonson) Wilde, age 97, a longtime resident of northwest Indiana passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010. She was born on June 19, 1913 in Hibbing, Minnesota the daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Simonson. She was married to Martin Wilde who preceded her in death. Evelyn retired from U.S. Steel where she had worked as a clerk. Evelyn was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Evelyn will be fondly missed by many especially her family who she cherished very much.

Evelyn is survived by her loving family, sister Lorna Mamelson, Valparaiso, numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Martin Wilde, her sister Luella Stout, and her brothers Bill Simonson, Harvey Simonson, and Chuck Simonson.

A visitation for Evelyn Wilde will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, November 6, 2010 directly at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnum Street, Lake Station. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am on Saturday at Saint Francis, with Father Eduardo Malagon, officiating. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond.
