Evelyn Rivera, age 87, of Lake Station passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side.  Evelyn was born September 30, 1933 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico to the late Pablo and Ramona (Santiago) Fonseca.  She retired as a certified nursing assistant from St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.  Evelyn loved caring for her family.

Evelyn is survived by her eight loving children, Nilda (James) Seubering of Lake Station, Jenny (Nestaly) Campos of Merrillville, Anthony Rivera of lake Station, David Rivera of Charleston, SC, Norbert (Cheryl) Rivera of Macedonia, SC, Miguel Rivera, Edwin Rivera and Maria Rivera all of Lake Station; nine grandchildren, Norma, Lisa, JJ, David Jr., Ashley, Maria, Rebecca, Jessica, and Nathan;  seventeen Great Grandchildren, Crystal, Brandi, Jessie, Joshua, Emma, Nicholas, Alexandria, Isaiah, Louise, Anglica, David III, Anaria, Skyler, Cameron, Brooklyn, Noah, and Zoe; eight great-great grandchildren,  Brandin, Wyatt, Rosalee, Brett, Jaydin, Abey, Dominic, and Mila; two brothers and two sisters, Andre Fonseca, Jose Fonseca, Natividad Fonseca, and Christina Fonseca all of Puerto Rico; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alejandrino Rivera and one granddaughter Maria Hertzlieb.

Visitation will be Tuesday December 15, 2020 at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel 3781 Central Avenue Lake Station, Indiana 46405 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.  Due to County COVID-19 Restrictions no more than 25 persons are allowed in the Funeral Home at any one time.  Private Funeral services be held Wednesday.
