Obituary

Faustino Jimenez, Sr., age 76, of Gary passed away December 11, 2020 at Methodist Hospital, Southlake Campus in Merrillville.  Faustino was born May 10, 1944 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to the late Modesto and Julia (Benitez) Jimenez.  He was a retired Crane Operator at Bethlehem Steel and Arcellor/Mittal Steel.

He is survived by his wife, Awilda Jimenez; his children, , Nancy (Jack) Wooten of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Sylvia (Anthony) Lopez of Orland Park, Illinois, Julia (Herminio) Santana of Gary, Faustino (Kara) Jimenez Jr. of Valparaiso, Antonio (Shannon) Jimenez of Montgomery, Texas; eight grandchildren, Nathaniel, Gabriella, Christopher, Nicholas, Corrine, Christina, Isabella, and Aliyah; two brothers, Frank (Esperanza) Jimenez of Gary, and Hector Jimenez of DeLand, Florida; four sisters, Juanita Rivera of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Maria Bermudez of Chicago, Illinois, Carmen (Santos) Gonzales of Hobart, and Lydia Jimenez of DeLand, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jose Juan Jimenez.

Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Thursday December 17, 2020 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue, portage, Indiana 46368.  **Due to County Restrictions no more that twenty-five people can be allowed in the building at any one time. Social Distancing should be followed.  Private funeral services will be held Friday December 18, 2020. Burial will follow in McCool Cemetry.
