Florence V. Forgey (nee Scheuer), age 67 of Crown Point, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Methodist Hospital, Southlake Campus following a courageous 41year battle with pheochromocytoma. Florence had been a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident and graduated from East Gary Edison High School in 1961.Flo was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crown Point, where she also was extremely active; teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and the Love Circle Womens Group. Flo and her husband, Jon enjoyed gardening, walking and bike riding together. She was active in the Old Sheriff's House Foundation. Florence had been employed as a respiratory therapist at Methodist Hospitals for approximately 20 years and was a Mary Kay Representative. She was a member of the Crown Point O.E.S. #408.
Florence is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Jon Forgey, step-son, Michael (Barbara) Forgey of Havre de Grace, MD; 8 brothers and sisters: Mary Catherine (Pasquale) Santucci of Scottsdale, AZ, Joseph Scheuer of Hobart, Jack (Fran) Scheuer and Jim (Charlotte) Scheuer, Patricia Scheuer, all of Lake Station, Ruth (Bill) Smith of Valparaiso, Rosemary (John) Borisenko of St. Genevieve, MO, Chuck (Linda) Scheuer of Valparaiso, brother-in-law, Dr. William Forgey, M.D., of Crown Point; numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, Charles D., Sr. & Genevieve Scheuer, preceded her in death.

According to Florence's wishes there will be no viewing. There will be a memorial service Monday December 13, 2010 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Crown Point, 352 S. Main St., Crown Point, IN 46307 with Pastor Mark Wilkins officiating. Friends and family may arrive at 10 am for visitation until the memorial service begins at 11 am.
