Florence M. Grabelle, (Pawlus from home) age 92, of Merrillville, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018. She was born on December 23, 1925 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late George and Mary (nee Schafacz) Pawlus. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Crown Point. Florence was a devoted care giver and took pride in keeping an immaculate home. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Florence is survived by her two sons, Jerome (Patricia) Grabelle of Crown Point and Dennis ( Jo Ellen) Grabelle of Highland; grandchildren, Dina (Ernesto) Irizarry and Anthony (Nikki)  Grabelle; seven great-grandchildren, Angelique (Brian) Kayden, Ernesto and Jordan Irizarry, Andrew, Devin, Zachary,  and Julia Grabelle and David Liekis; great-great grandchildren, Aaliyah Kayden and Ayden Irizarry; sister, Dorothy Kolodziej and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband Bruno Grabelle; her parents and her five brothers, Walter, John, Frank, Joseph, Stanley; and infant sister, Anne Pawlus..

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10 am, directly at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7667 East 109 ^th Ave, Crown Point with Rev. Thomas Mischler officiating. Burial will be private at Holy Cross in Calumet City, Illinois. Visitation will be held prior to Mass from 9 am until time of Mass also at Holy Spirit, Catholic Church.
