Jolly
January 10, 1941 – November 19, 2025
Florence "Miss Jolly" Jolly, age 84, of Gary, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. Born and raised in Gary, Miss Jolly was a proud graduate of Roosevelt High School. She spent her career working with Arthur Winer and later with Truck Stops of America, where she was known for her strong work ethic and warm, approachable spirit. A longtime member of the CB Club, she was fondly known by her handle, "Rubber Ducky." Miss Jolly was a gifted quilter-a talent she cherished and generously shared with family and friends. Her handiwork, created with love and patience, became treasured keepsakes that reflected her creativity and the deep affection she held for those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son Walter Spencer; her parents Jake and Davetta Spencer; and her siblings Murilene Crowder, Gwendolyn Malone, and Jake Spencer.
She is survived by her sisters Joyce Cohen, Rachel Spencer, Ella B. Spencer, and Doreen Spencer; and by her loving brother and devoted caregiver Eugene Sutton, who remained faithfully by her side. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss her kindness, humor, and generous heart.
Miss Jolly's legacy of love, craftsmanship, and community will continue to live on in every life she touched.
