Florence Lopez (nee Baron), age 92 a longtime Hobart resident passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015. She was born on March 23, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Vidal and Eva Baron. She was an avid White Sox Fan. She enjoyed yardwork and gardening. Florence loved cooking and baking for her family and loved spending time with them.
She is survived by 3 sons, Vidal (Judith) Lopez of Zephyrhills, FL; Ronald Lopez of Hebron, IN; Randal (Donna) Lopez of Hobart, IN; 2 daughters, Bonnie Holder of Hobart, IN; Carolyn (late Ben) Luna of Hobart, IN; one brother, Mark (Brenda) Salinas of Winimac, IN; two sisters, Pat (Pete) Brew of Winimac, IN; Virginia (Fred) Worley of Chesterton, IN; three grandchildren, Jill (Steve) Zakutansky, Dawn Lopez, Jeff (Jennifer) Holder, 6 great-grandchildren, Molly, Adriana, Mikayla, and Megan Zakutansky, and Hailey and Ryan Holder, and special niece, Jackie Thomason.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boniface Lopez, 7 brothers and one sister.
Funeral services are Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Chaplain Michelle Walker from Dunes Hospice officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Visitation is Friday, March 20, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
