Florence Elizabeth Watkins Murray, age 93, of Hobart passed away Tuesday January 28, 2014 in the Rittenhouse Senior Living Center in Valparaiso. Florence was born November 3, 1920 in Gary, Indiana to the late Otto and Lillian (Voss) Heine. Florence was the former owner of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant in LaPorte, Indiana. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart. She will be missed by her loving family.

Florence is survived by two sons John E. (Lila) Watkins of Largo, FL and Terry (Sonia) Watkins of Chesterton; a stepson Bradley (Reesa) Murray of Hobart; five grandchildren John T. Watkins, Debra (Marty) Cordis, David Watkins, John M. (Patricia) Watkins and Salena (Douglas) Elish; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her two husbands John M. Watkins, Jr. and James A. Murray, Sr.; her stepson James A. Murray, Jr.; her parents and three brothers.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday January 31, 2014 at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 with rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating . Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 pm at the Funeral home.
