Frances Hansen (nee Nicoloff), age 92, of Hobart, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015. She was born on September 25, 1922 in Gary, Indiana to the late Alexander and Anna Nicoloff. Frances retired after 15 years of working for Gainer Bank as a cashier. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing. Most importantly, she will be remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Helen (Richard) Berry, Frances M. Hansen, Arlene (Terry) Evans; grandchildren, Laurie Corbett, Tracy King, Cary Scot (Tracey) Evans, Kenneth (Barbie) Evans; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Brittaney and Cameron Evans, Samantha and Joseph DeHoyas, Riley and Mason Evans; sisters, Dorothy Nicoloff and Ethel (Charles) Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Anna Nicoloff. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care given to their mother by Karen Asbell and Suzie and Patty of VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. A funeral service for Frances will take place Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Cremation will follow the service.
