Frances Kathryn Mason

Age 93, of Hobart passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at The Waters of Hobart. She was born on June 29, 1931, in Gary, Indiana to the late Ovie B. and Clara (nee Heubel) Swim. She married the love of her life Thomas F. Mason on December 18, 1947, in Gary, Indiana, her husband of 59 years tenderly nicknamed her "Pretty Girl" which remained her nickname. She was a retired Pharmacy Technician and worked for Gary Methodist and Broadway Methodist Hospitals. Frances's family was her greatest treasure; she loved spending time with them. She took great pleasure in watching older westerns, indulging in eggs and chocolate, visiting the casino, and when her health limited her, she played casino games on the computer. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Patricia L. Mason; son, Frank (Judy) Mason; grandson, Clayton (Carrie) Mason and two great grandchildren; and additionally, she had a deep affection for her fur grand babies, Katie Bell and Heidi Elise and many other loving family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Mason; son,

Stephen Mason; brother, Ovie Lee Swim; sister, Evelyn Maxine Harris and brother-in-law, Elmo Harris.
