Frances Shultz, age 84, a longtime resident of Portage passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011. She was born on August 17, 1926 in Clairton, Pennsylvania the daughter of John and Louise Ashperger. Frances was married to Raymond Charles Shultz. Frances worked in the Portage School System for over 22 years as a cook and custodian. She was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, the St. Anne's Guild, a member of the Altar and Rosary Sodality, and the Nativity Choir, the Preradovic Glee Club Choir, an active member of the Bonner Center, a member of the Bonner Center Singers. She worked with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Portage Community Council. She was also crowned the Porter County Senior Queen.

Frances is survived by her loving family, daughters Kathy (George) Stowers, Valparaiso, and Roxine (Sam) Hodgson, West Mifflin, PA, son Raymond Shultz, Jr., Portage, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond Shultz, her sister Wilma Yonich, and her brother Frank Puschak.

A rosary for Frances Shultz will be offered at 9:30 am on Friday, January 7, 2011 directly at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage with a mass of Christian Burial being offered at 10:00 am.
