Francine G. Prusinski-Nowak, age 70, of Hebron passed away Tuesday July 24, 2018 at her daughter's home in Downers Grove, IL with her family by her side.  She was born November 17, 1947 in Gary, Indiana to the late Stanley and Frances (Guzik) Prusinski.  She worked for Montgomery Ward Repair Service for over 33 years as a HR specialist.  She was a proud River Forest High School cheerleader that graduated in 1966, and attended Indiana State University for 2 years prior to her marriage to Kenneth Nowak. Francine was a devoted member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Hebron.  Francine was a loving Godmother to many. She was one of a kind, always positive and caring, a person who put the needs of her family and friends before her own.  She enjoyed the time she spent with her "Club Girls" a group of life-long friends.  In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, watching her Channel 7 Soap Operas, and cooking for her family using her favorite magic pot. She also enjoyed many hours with her "grand-pets" by her side.

Francine is survived by two daughters, Nicole (Mateen) Ahmad of Downers Grove, IL and Megan (Nicholas) Baffes of Joliet, IL; a beloved granddaughter, Gabrielle Baffes of Joliet; sisters and brother, Barbara (Rich) Kosiba of Noblesville, Marsha (Dennis) Bunda of Hebron, Dr. Scott (Beth) Prusinski of Elwood and Susan (Tom) Witt of Hebron; two brothers-in-law, Dennis Garber and Robert (Janie) Nowak; many nieces and nephews and special neighbors Danny and Lynne Regan.  Francine's family wish to thank her special caregiver Maria Mendaluk and special nieces Cathy and Kelly.  They also want to thank Dr. Nicklas Pfanzelter and the nurses at the Rush Cancer Centers in Lisle, IL and Chicago, IL for their kind and devoted care. She faced each new challenge with a smile and grace.

Francine was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Kenny, her parents Stanley and Frances Prusinski, her in-laws, Stanley and Adela Nowak, and her sister Janice Garber.

A Memorial mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Monday July 30, 2018 at Assumption BVM Church 3530 Illinois Street Hobart with Rev. Jeffrey Burton officiating.  Visitation will be from 3-7 pm Sunday July 29, 2018 at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342 with a 6:00 pm prayer service.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to Francine's family to be used for a common donation in her memory.
