Francis "Frank" Vander Ploeg, age 89, of Crown Point, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016. He was born on April 16, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Andrew and Helen Vander Ploeg. He will always be remembered as a dedicated father, grandfather and friend.

Frank is survived by his son, James Vander Ploeg; daughters, Barbara (William) Borys, Patricia (Thomas) Fehlberg; grandchildren, Hannah, Katie, Sarah, Edward (Rebecca), Joseph, Daniel, Kya and Claire; great grandchildren, Connor, Harrison, Talon, Keeley and Kenadie; special friend, Mary O'Donnell; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Helen Vander Ploeg; brothers, Peter, Henry and Alfred Vander Ploeg; and sister, Bernice Sytsma.

A funeral service for Frank will take place Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 99 South County Line Road, Crown Point, IN 46307 with visitation there from 9:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Howard Clevenger will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Fairmount Willow Hills Park Cemetery in Willow Springs, Illinois.
