Francisco X. "Frank" Barragan, age 78 of Portage passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013. He was born on March 2, 1935 in Saltio, Mexico. Frank retired from the E J and E Railroad where he had worked as a foreman. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and singing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Julia Barragan of Portage, IN; 7 sons, Frank (Patricia) Barragan of Mobile, AL; Ray (Kari) Ruvalcaba of CA; David Barragan of Portage, IN; Peter (Colleen) Ruvalcaba of IN; Phillip Barragan of Valparaiso, IN; Robert Ruvalcaba of Medaryville, IN; Mark (Tammy) Barragan of Portage, IN; 4 daughters, Esperanza (Marty) Stauffer of Valparaiso, IN; Elizabeth (Calvin) Collette of Tampa, FL; Deborah (Ruben) Flores of Austin, TX; Ruth (Pat) Adank of Portage, IN; 1 brother, Octavio (Sylvia) Barragan of Mexico; 1 sister, Lupe Montes of Mexico, and many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Manuel and Petey Barragan.

Funeral services are Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
