Frank W. Elliott, age 87, of Portage, IN passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. Frank was born on June 28, 1935, to the late Gust James and Veronica (nee Gibbons) Elliott in Chicago, Illinois. Frank proudly served in the United States Army, working as a combat engineer, during the Korean War. Frank married his high school sweetheart Peggy (nee McCoy) Banik in Chicago, Illinois in 1960, and they spent 55 loving years together, until her passing in May of 2015. Frank was a member of IBEW Local 134 out of Chicago. This job gave Frank and Peggy an opportunity they both loved to travel the country. He volunteered teaching welding and electrician trades to students at Ridge Technical College, he was a former lifeguard at the Hammond YMCA, a bowling coach for Valpo High School. Frank was in the Senior Olympics and received several medals. Frank was a member of the Honor Flight 78 ^th Flight in Chicago, and the Bonner Center. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his IBEW brothers. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend.

Frank is survived by his daughters: Toni Elliott of Winter Haven, Florida, and Tracy (Don) Lightfoot of Valparaiso, sister, Theresa Elliott- Braun, and his fur baby, rescue, Pookie and many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife: Peggy Elliott; four siblings, Betty Elliott, Helen "Lynn" Hough, Jim and John Elliott and his fur baby Pappous.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Homes, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Ave., Portage for a memorial visitation on Saturday, October 1,2022 from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. A Funeral Service will take place directly following visitation at 7:00 p.m. Frank will join his bride at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
