Franklin D. "Buddy" Rogers, age 81, of Lake Station passed away Friday May 12, 2017 at the lower Keys Medical Center in Key West, Florida. Buddy was born December 27, 1935 in Madisonville, Kentucky to the late Vernon and Thelma (Hogan) Rogers. He was the owner and operator of Rogers Construction and Rentals and the builder, owner and operator of the Riverview Lounge. Buddy was active in Lake Station politics during the sixties and seventies. He served as a precinct committee man and a city council member. He also enjoyed drag racing at US 30 Drag Strip.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Kathleen A. Rogers; his children, Diana (Tommy) Mills of Alabama and Frank Rogers of Mississippi; his step children, Philip (Marli) Brucato of Washington and Linda Brucato of California; his sister, Flo E. (Jim) Henry of Evansville; Eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; his in-laws, Chris (Don) Willis, Linda (Joe) Jackson, Veronica (Chet) Kapica, J.C. (Kathy) Boyd, Debbie (Ricky) Livingston and Arthur Boyd; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Deborah Rogers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 Tuesday May 23, 2017 at the Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel 3781 Central Avenue Lake Station, IN 46405 with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN. Visitation will be Monday From 2-8 pm at the funeral home.
