Fred G. Summers Jr.

A beacon of love and loyalty, passed on October 6, 2024, at Community Hospital in Munster, leaving a lasting impact. Fred was born to parents Fred G. Summers Sr. and Sherri (nee Crowell) Summers on April 3, 1968, in Hammond, Indiana. He was a 1986 Merrillville High School and 1990 Indiana State University graduate. Fred cherished memories of SAE, ISU track, and his friends. As a dedicated Iron Worker and union member of Local 395, his integrity and work ethic motivated others.  His family and friends were enriched by his presence, as he was a brilliant and captivating storyteller. He took great pleasure in spending time with family and friends, especially his cherished grandbabies. The remarkable journey of Fred and Christi's love commenced with a simple yet profound moment – Christi spotting Fred mowing the lawn- and evolving into an unbreakable bond, forever sealed on November 5, 2003, with their heartfelt marriage in Porter Co.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 20 yrs, Christi (nee Nordyke) Summers; son, Carson Snyder; two daughters, Payton Summers and Katlynn (Zac) Geiselman; grandchildren, Raelynn Wood, Jackson Davis, Mason Tippins and Scarlette Geiselman; father, Fred G. Summers Sr.; mother, Sherrie (nee Crowell) Summers; brother, Lance (Dana) Summers; sister, Holly (Noel) Cullen; father-in-law, John Nordyke; mother-in-law, Sue Nordyke; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-niece and great-nephew; numerous bonus children, and other loving family members and friends. In lieu of flowers donations to American Lung association in Fred's memory maybe made to American Lung Association 115 W. Washington St, STE 1180-S Indianapolis, IN 46204.
