Freddie Dale Bowman, age 63, of Portage, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016. He was born on November 5, 1952 in Gary, Indiana to the late Marvin Wm. Sharp and Agnes A. Bowman. A lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana, Freddie was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed computers and watching movies.

Freddie is survived by his brother, David (Debbie) Bowman; sisters, Jeanetta Harris, Rosemary Baker, Eileen (Douglas) Meksula, Katherine Burrow; beloved aunt, Imogene Benedyk; and many other loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Sharp and Agnes Bowman; sister, Irene Phillips.

A funeral service for Freddie will take place Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. Richard Ledford officiating. He will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in a private ceremony. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
