FRIEDA CUNNINGHAM, age 95, of Hobart, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025.

She was born on December 7, 1930, in Freising, Germany. Frieda moved to the United States after marrying an Army soldier in 1953. She and her late husband, Gene Huddleston, had two children, Bill and Melody, whom they raised in East Gary, now known as Lake Station.

Frieda was a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Lake Station. She was also a member of the Retail Clerks Union and worked for many years as a checkout clerk at several local stores, including Corey Bros. Bakery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bridget Seebauer; her first husband, Gene Huddleston; her second husband, Stanley Cunningham; and her daughter, Melody Stemph.

Frieda is survived by her son, Bill Huddleston and Connie Young of Cape Coral, Florida; her granddaughters, Leah and Pat Lynch of Valparaiso and Erica and Kelby Carter of Aurora, Colorado; and her great-grandsons, Tom and Ben Lynch of Valparaiso.

Cremation has been entrusted to Rees Funeral Homes, Hobart Chapel.
