Gary "Grizz" Hartkorn

Gary "Grizz" Hartkorn, age 62, of Wanatah passed away Tuesday June 12, 2018 at Southlake Methodist Hospital.  He was born April 6, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Harry and Erika (Wellbrook) Hartkorn.  Gary was a Car Hauler working for Jack Cooper Transport out of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local Union #414.   Gary was a member of American Legion Post #502, S.A.L. and the American Legion Riders. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed singing Karaoke, riding his motorcycle, working in his yard and spending time with his Legion Family.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Tammy; sons, Jamie Hartkorn of Wanatah and Josh Hartkorn of Roseville, MI; stepson Daniel Griffith of Valparaiso; brothers Frank (Karen) Hartkorn of Macomb Township, MI and Mark Hartkorn of Harrison Township, MI; his sister, Carol (Al) Kibzey of Macomb Township, MI and his four legged sons Chesney, Ziggy and Hootie.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday June 19, 2018 at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342.  Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Monday June 18, 2018 at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts should be directed to Gary's Family.
