Gaylynn Marie Cox, age 54, of Schererville passed away Wednesday December 6, 2017 at the Porter County VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. Gaylynn was born September 6, 1963 in Hammond, Indiana to Mac and Majorie (Swantko) Sakal.

She loved flowers, children and her dogs. She was a dispatcher with the Schererville Police Department for many years and then worked as a Lake County emergency dispatcher.

Gaylynn is survived by her two children; Shianne Cox of Lake Station and Christopher  (Fiancee  Casey) Cox of Portage;  her father Mac Sakal of Schererville; a brother; Darren (Tonya) Sakal of Schererville; three sisters, Marlo Sakal of Merrillville, Joy (Bruce)  Arwood of Griffith  and Holly Sakal of Schererville,

Memorial services will be conducted 7:00 pm Saturday December 9, 2017 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342.  Memorial  Visitation  will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm on  Saturday.

Memorial donations may be directed to Gaylynn's family to help defray her medical expenses.
