Gene R. Anderson, age 64, of Hobart passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was born on August 14, 1956 in Gary, Indiana to the late Donald and Agnes Anderson. He worked as an operating engineer for Boyd Construction. In his free time, he really enjoyed fishing and grilling the fish for dinner.  He also liked gardening and will be remembered for his fried chicken.

He is survived by his four daughters, Jennifer Boshaw, Gina (Jason) Gilliam, Ginger (Matthew) Gast and Chelsea Anderson; adopted daughter, Rochelle Anderson; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, James (Eleanore) Anderson, Wayne (Buff) Anderson, Donald (Nancy) Anderson; sisters, Kathleen Kirkland, Doris (Michael) Brown, Donna (Steve) Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Agnes Anderson; and two brothers, Michael and Ted Anderson.
