GENEVIE SMITH, age 61, of Hobart, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at home. Genevie was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Portage. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband, Henry Smith, 3 children: Walter Lee Johnson of Georgia, Henry D. Smith, Jr. of Dunlap, TN and Tonya Smith (James Musall) of Hobart, 4 grandchildren: Amanda Johnson, Jerome Smith, Harrison Smith and Madalyn Musall, great granddaughter: Alexis Rodriguez, brother, Wallace Johnson of Lake Station, 4 sisters: Nina Jo (James) Alexander of Lake Station, Viola Sutter of New Caney, Texas, Naomi Smith of Graysville, TN and Faye (Chester) Stewart of Dunlap, TN, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lelies Johnson, brothers: Howard, Marshall, Curtis, Chester and W.K. Johnson and sisters: Jerlene Johnson, Margie Smith and Marie Mincey.
Local visitation will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart from 2-8 pm. She will then be taken to Ewton Funeral Home in Dunlap, Tennessee, for visitation, Funeral and burial at Collier Cemetery.
