George Cannon

George Cannon, age 91, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in , Kuttawa, Kentucky on July 31, 1927 to the late George and Annie Marie (nee Herring) Cannon Sr.. On December 20, 1952 George married the love of his life Dotty Jane Wadlington in Mississippi. He was a retired ironworker and was a 70 year member of Local 395. He was a longtime devoted member of Barrington Ridge Baptist Church in Hobart and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

George is survived by his loving wife of 66 yrs. Dotty Jane Cannon; two sons, Danny (Lisa) Cannon and Ron (Chris) Cannon; daughter, Brenda (Don) Barringer; grandchildren, Anthony Barringer, Michael (Tiffany) Barringer, Morgan Clausen, Amy (Mike) Mewborn, Josh (Miriam) Cannon and Chad (Julie) Cannon; great-grandchildren, Cassie Cannon, Alex Cannon, Austin Barringer, Addyson Barringer, Crew Cannon and one more on the way; son in law, Ed Clausen and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Jane Clausen and two sisters, Modest (Harold) Warren and Joyce (Don) Dewberry.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 10:00a.m. with Rev. Bill Gibbs officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd.
