George "Mike" Michael Puchowski

Age 70, a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Brickyard Nursing Home in Portage. He was born on December 29, 1953, to the late George J. and Dorothy (nee Miller) Puchowski in Gary, Indiana. With an infectious enthusiasm, Mike savored every moment feeding and watching birds, his preferred color was orange, which he incorporated in his daily attire, as he explored the nursing home, fascinated by the lives of those around him. His eyes sparkled spotting airplanes in the sky, and he reveled in mind stimulating puzzles and card games particularly Mickey Mouse themed ones with his sister, Janet and enjoyed friendly nerf football competitions with Lynn. Strolls with Toby, the loyal family canine companion, brought him serenity. He will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle.

George is survived by; sister, Janet Richmond; nieces, Michelle Vallejo, Jennifer (Rick) Rayner Jr.; great nieces and nephew, Mya and Marley Vallejo; Vincent and Jade McDonald, Caroline Rayner; bonus sister, Lynn Peterson and the family fur baby, Toby.

A special thank you to the exceptional caregivers at Brickyard Nursing home who brightened his day were Nikki and Pat, compassionate certified nursing aids, Candi, the dedicated RN, and Tammy the office administrator with a heart of gold. George was preceded in death by his father, George J. Puchowski; mother, Dorothy (nee Miller) Puchowski; brother, Daniel R. Puchowski, Gerald "Jerry" Zachary Puchowski and sister, Carol Jean Puchowski.
