George Albert Morgan, age 81, a resident of Chesterton, passed away in Francesville, Indiana, on Thursday, March 29, 2012. He was born on May 11, 1930 in Mulkeytown, Illinois, the son of Albert and Stella Morgan. George proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was then married to Ingeborg Rohkohl on December 8, 1956 in Benton, Illinois. George worked at American Bridge for over 24 years as a foreman and then for Industrial Steel for 5 years. George liked to build things, enjoyed tinkering around the house, and doing yard work. George was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to all.
George is survived by his loving family; daughter Stella (Lee) Daghy, Wanatah, grandchildren Tammy (John) Zack, Portage, Kevin (Callie Straub) Daghy, Chesterton, Mario Patyk, Berkshire, England, great-grandchildren Sebastian Zack, and Camren Daghy, brother Kenneth Hicks, Englewood, Colorado, and other loving family and dear friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Ingeborg Morgan, his daughter Marita Patyk, his sister Cleta Starnes, his brother Gene Biby, and his sister Bessy Johnston.
A memorial visitation for George Morgan will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. According to his wishes he was cremated. Memorials in George's memory may be made to the Parkview Haven Retirement Community and Nursing Care in Francesville, Indiana.
