George Robert Olovich, 80, of Hobart, Indiana was called home to the Lord on Friday, January 5, 2024.  He was born September 9, 1943, in Gary, Indiana to the late George and Cecilia (nee: Cisowski).

George married the love of this life, Bernice "Betty" (nee: Warzecha) on May 8, 1965, and together raised two sons.  He was employed by US Steel and worked for the Merchant Mill until it closed.  George was a devout Catholic and a former member of St. Casimir Church in Gary and current member of St. Bridget in Hobart.  He and Bernice loved all animals and George was greeted in Heaven by his four beloved dogs who passed before him.  He lived a simple life and worked hard to care for his family, whom he loved dearly.  George will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

George is survived by his loving wife, Betty; sons, Robert and Kenneth (Julie); grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle) Huber, Matthew Olovich, and Grace Olovich, and his little dog Bella.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in passing by his brother, Thomas Olovich.

Visitation will take place from 8:00am – 9:30am Wednesday, January 10 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342.  Prayers will begin at 9:30am, following prayers, a funeral mass will be held at 10:00am at St. Bridget Church, 107 Main St, Hobart, Indiana 46342.
