GEORGIA L. ALEXANDER, age 64, of Portage, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013. She was born on April 17, 1949 in Hoopeston, Illinois and settled in Northwest Indiana at a young age. Georgia was employed at Bethlehem Steel and retired in 2000. She had recently been attending Real Life Community Church. Georgia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
Georgia is survived by her loving husband, Lynn Alexander; 2 daughters, Vicki (Tim Sr.) Stanton of Portage and Pam (Travis) Carter of Portage; 3 grandchildren, Darren Conley, Brittany Stanton, and Tim Stanton, Jr.; 1 great grandchild, Gauge; 10 siblings; many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bea Banks.
A funeral service for Georgia will be Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, Indiana with Rev. Duane Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
