Georgia Joan Parnell
GEORGIA JOAN PARNELL, age 74, of Lake Station, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Methodist Hospital, Southlake Campus. Joan was a longtime Lake Station resident and member of Hobart Eagles Lodge #2498.
She is survived by 4 sons: Leroy (Danetta) Parnell of Lake Station, James H. Parnell of Hobart, Delbert (Irene) Parnell of Oxford, Arkansas and Richard (Sherri) Parnell of Lake Station, 2 daughters: Mary Lou (Dwight) Gamez of Gary and Carolyn (Greg) Neal of Sevierville, TN, brother, David (Carol) McCord of Valparaiso, 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and close friend, Brenda Rippe of Hobart and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Parnell, sons, Andy & Roger Parnell and sisters, Kay Roberts, Mildred Lara and Phyllis Pace.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 10 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Pastors Chuck & Minnie Munsell officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart, 219-942-2109 or online www.ReesFuneralHomes.com.
