Gerald "Jerry" Keith Anderson, age 75, went to be with his Savior peacefully on Saturday morning, September 8, 2018. He was born in Gary, IN on September 9, 1942, to Henry and Ora Odell Anderson, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Marie (Woodruff) Anderson; his two children, Jeff Anderson (Melissa) & Jennifer Lucas (Dave); his grandchildren, Ashley Spencer (Mark), Amanda Porter (Nick), Alex Anderson (Kayla), Emily Lucas, Woody Lucas (Molly) and Max Lucas (Fiance Hannah Gergets); his great-grandchildren, Cole Porter, Clay Spencer, Remi Porter, Eisley Spencer, Brinley Anderson and Brecken Anderson. Other family members who loved him are Jane and Doug McDaniel, Wayne and Ann Kennell, aunts Betty Davis and Nina Davis.

Jerry loved Jesus, his family, friends, woodworking, basketball, the Cubs and helping others. He was a long time member of Bethel Church. He graduated from Hobart High School in 1960. He spent most of his adult life in the trucking industry and retired from Steel Transport in 1992. He then enjoyed much time as a freelance handyman.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until noon, with a  Celebration Service immediately following at noon on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Bethel Church Hobart/Portage Campus, 704 W. 700 North Hobart, IN, Pastor Dan Jacobsen officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bethel Church Kids Ministry (10202 Broadway, Crown Point, IN 46307) or West African Christian Ministries (P.O. Box 429 Valparaiso, IN 46383).
