Gerald L. Brown, Sr. (Jerry), age 85, passed away on January 9, 2015. He was born on June 30, 1929 in Gary, Indiana to the late Emmett and Faye Brown. Most of his working years, he was a truck driver and was retired from U.S. Steel Company. He was a resident of Hobart for many years. Jerry was a member of the Hobart M.L. McLelland Masonic Lodge #357. His last ten years were spent in Florida.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Arlene I. Brown; grandson, Brandon; brother, J.R. and Sister, Lucille.

He is survived by sons, David L. (Linda) Brown, Gerald L. Brown Jr.; daughters, Joyce M. (Bob) Brown-Rosenbaum, Connie F. Brown-Bernal; grandson, Michael J. Brown; granddaughter, Jordan M. Rosenbaum; devoted friend, Lois Altman. Also survived by brothers, Donald (Diane) Brown, William (Issie) Brown, Larry (Sally) Brown and many relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Jerry will be held at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN. Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Masonic service at 7:00. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery, 1505 Morthland Drive, Valparaiso, IN.
