Gerald V. Hall

Gerald V. Hall, age 78, of Portage passed away Sunday October 4, 2026, in the Northwest Health-Porter in Valparaiso, Indiana. Gerald was born November 15, 1947, in Gary, Indiana to the late Harry and Cora Bell (Koehler) Hall. Gerald was a retired Steel Worker that worked for LTV Steel. Gerald was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Portage. He was a US Army veteran and enjoyed attending the Bonner Sr. Center.

He is survived by his loving wife, Paula (Sawyer) Hall of Portage; daughter, Deanna (Michael) Hammonds of Chesterton; four grandchildren, Madison Rogers, Allison Rogers, Aubrey Rogers, and Micaiah Rogers; three great grandchildren, Rose Nash and Ross Nash, and Lilly Brinsfield; one brother, Alex (Louise) Bodak; and many dear friends and other relatives.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry Hall and Russell Hall; and a sister, Joyce Fowler.

Visitation for Gerald will be from 10 am to 12 pm Friday October 9, 2026, at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368. His funeral service will follow at 12 pm at the funeral home with Bishop Jarret Spence officiating. Entombment will follow in Graceland Mausoleum in Valparaiso.
