Gerald "Jerry" Lee Phillips, Sr., age 80, of Portage, IN passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022.
Jerry was born on June 19, 1942 to the late Edward and Ethel Phillips. He worked as a Master Machinist Mold Maker with Foster Forbes/Saint-Gobaine for over 30 years and retired in 2007. He married Sandra Louise Gabor, on October 20, 1962 and spent 45 years together until her passing in 2007. He married Toni Lou Creasy on July 23, 2022.
He attended the First United Methodist Church in Portage, IN. In his younger years, Jerry was an avid outdoorsman. He spent his time fishing and canoeing through the Boundary Waters, MN, hunting up north in Montello, WI, and enjoying outdoor adventures across the United States. Jerry was always willing and able to lend a helping hand from electrical, mechanical to amazing artistry tasks, he always attributed his skills to the Portage High School for his training and education. Jerry was a loving husband, devoted father, beloved grandfather and great-grandfather, dear brother, uncle, great uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was always the person that could light up every room he ever entered and filled the hearts and ears of everyone he met.
Jerry is survived by his wife: Toni Creasy, his children: Adeline "Dee Dee" (Walter "Wally") Euler and Gerald "Jerry" (Ruth) Phillips; grandchildren: Crystal (Sam) Watts, Megan (Joseph "Joe") Myers, Logan Euler, Taylor (Jessica "Jessi") Clark and Hunter Phillips; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife: Sandra; daughter: Andrea, parents: Edward and Ethel; and his four sisters.
Family and friends may gather at Echo Veterans Memorial Park (595 Milwaukee Ave, Burlington, WI 53105 ) beginning at 1pm on Saturday June 24, 2023. A Private Service for family will take place on Friday June 23, 2023 at 1pm at Roselawn Memory Gardens at 3045 WI-67, Lake Geneva, WI 53147.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jerry's name are preferred to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
