Gerald "Jerry" Zachary Puchowski

Age 68, a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 29,2024 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. He was born on February 16, 1956, to the late George J. and Dorothy (nee Miller) Puchowski in Gary, Indiana. Jerry was a 1974 graduate of Hobart High School.  He will be remembered as a loving partner, bonus dad and grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Everyone who loved him will cherish the memories of him.

Jerry is survived by his brother, George Michael Puchowski; sister, Janet Richmond; life partner of 30 yrs., Lynn Petersen; nieces; Michelle Vallejo, Jennifer (Rick) Rayner Jr.; great nieces, Mya and Marley Vallejo; Vincent and Jade McDonald, Caroline Rayner; bonus children, Charles (Jackie) Petersen, Shannon Petersen, and Rachel Niessen and bonus granddaughter, Lexi Niessen; friend, Mark Piet, Rob Niessen and the family fur baby, Toby.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, George J. Puchowski; mother, Dorothy (nee Miller) Puchowski; brother, Daniel R. Puchowski and sister, Carol Jean Puchowski.

A visitation for Jerry will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342.
