Geraldine M. West (nee Essington), age 93, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 10, 1927 to the late Willard and Elvira (nee Sumner) Essington.  Geraldine retired after 25 years from the River Forest school system as a manager of the school cafeteria and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hobart and a member of the choir. She enjoyed, puzzle books, watching game shows, Tiger Woods play golf, crocheting blankets for her family members, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great- great grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her loving children, son, Lynn (Shirley "Cookie") West Jr.; three daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Marcum, Deborah (Julius) Titak and Tanya (James) Hutchins; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; two sisters, Dolores Piggish and Mary Ellen (Thomas) Greenwood and other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lynn B. West Sr; two sons Roland and Kevin West; two grandsons Adam and Jason West, and sister, Betty Jean Wilkins.

Visitation for Geraldine will be Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Funeral Service will be held privately.  She will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery.  Please extend online condolences at www.reesfuneralhomes.com .
