Gertrude Tallent

Gertrude Tallent (nee Adams), age 92 of Lake Station, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, one day shy of her 93rd birthday. She was born on September 29, 1932, in London, Kentucky to the late Andrew and Alta Adams. On September 26, 1953, she married Cecil Tallent. Gertrude was a voracious reader and enjoyed baking and knitting, but her favorite hobby was shopping. She was a dedicated member of Jubilee Worship Center in Hobart.

She is survived by her daughter, Alta (Robert) Neri-Newman; grandchildren, Adrianna Neri, Kristian Neri; great granddaughter, Athena Garcia; many loving nieces, nephews and family members; and her best friend, Carolyn Mills.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Alta Adams; her beloved husband, Cecil Tallent; brothers, Ray Adams, Ellis Adams, Earl Adams; sisters, Geraldine Dixon, Madge Adams, and Barbara Cooper.

Visitation for Gertrude will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will take place Friday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
