Obituary

GLENN D. JENNINGS, age 68, of Valparaiso, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Glenn was born in Lake City, TN on September 28, 1945. He served his country in the Army National Guard and retired from the Army Reserves. Glenn was a faithful member of Eastlake Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was also active in the Gideons International and served on the advisory board at the Porter County Salvation Army. Glenn had worked as a foreman and a welder at Bethlehem Steel and will be remembered by many for his skills as a carpenter. Glenn will be deeply missed.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lola; 2 daughters, Annette (Ken) Etchison of LaPorte, Melissa (Kevin) Newell of Lowell, and son, David Jennings of Atlanta, GA; 3 grandchildren, Lynsey Hartman, Natalie and Ben Newell; 3 brothers, Roy (Joyce) Jennings, TN, Wesley (Paula) Jennings of TX, and Roger (Gail) Jennings of GA; sister, Mary (Rick) Henley of TN; other loving family and friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by parents and brother, Douglas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glenn's family, Gideon's International, or Eastlake Baptist Church.

A funeral service for Glenn will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, with Brother Rick Hillard and Brother John Rogers officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, (219) 762-3013 or go online to extend condolences to the family at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
