IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria Elise
Lunn
March 1, 1962 – March 5, 2025
Gloria Lunn, age 63, of Portage, Indiana, passed away on March 5th, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 1st, 1962, to the late Raymond Bauer and Dorothy Bauer. She married Steven Lunn on February 22nd, 1986, and recently celebrated 39 years of marriage. Gloria, Steven, and their 3 kids moved from Oak Lawn, Illinois to Portage, Indiana in 1997, where she loved living near the Lake Michigan waterfront.
Gloria's life revolved around her family. She treasured spending time at home with her husband and kids, and was obsessed with her grandkids, Elliott, and Jack, who was recently born, constantly saying "he was the most beautiful baby."
She was exceptionally passionate about animals. Gloria "fostered" animals throughout the years (keeping many of them), particularly a raccoon named Molly, whom she had for many years.
Gloria had fun "jamming out" as she would say to country and rock n' roll music, gardening and watching the wildlife, crafting, sewing, going to the beach, and making others laugh, often sharing how she was voted class clown in grade school.
She loved getting together and enjoying food, from going to her favorite restaurants, Texas Roadhouse, and Fox's Pizza, and fast food at Taco Bell, Jimmy Johns, and White Castle. Her favorite foods were pizza, Italian beef, pastitsio, as well as banana laffy taffy, and atomic cake. She loved shopping at Dollar Tree, Amazon, and hunting down the best deals at garage sales.
Gloria was incredibly giving and caring, always trying to help others when she could. As her last gift, she chose to donate her body to those in need.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy (Paul), devoted husband, Steven; sister, Chris (Jim); brother, William; daughters, Nicole (Devin), and Kim; son, Danny (Mary); grandsons, Elliott, and Jack; nephews, Jake, and Anthony, who were like sons to her; several other nieces and nephews, countless extended family members and friends who loved her greatly, and the many, many pets she loved over the years.
Gloria was preceded in death by her grandma, Dorothy Giobbi, and her father, Raymond Bauer.
The family will announce a Celebration of Life later this year.
