Gordon J. "Joe" Morales, age 74, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at home.  He was born in Gary, Indiana on February 15, 1944.  Joe proudly served in The United States Army.  He was a retired Carpenter, Local 1005, who loved working with his hands and building things even in his free time.  He was a member and past commander at the VFW Post 7760 in Portage, the American Legion Post 260 in Portage, and also at Izaak Walton in Portage. Joe is survived by his son, Joseph (Tina) Morales of Portage; daughter, Desiree (Michael) Shane of Portage; grandchildren, Albert Shane, Paul Shane, Jordyn Morales; great grandson, Pheonix Shane; brother, Ken (Sande) Morales of Versailles, KY; and sisters, Sharon Morales of Portage, Joyce Morales of Valparaiso, Linda (Dean) Hill of Peachtree City, GA.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia (nee Sanders) Morales; parents, Fortunato and Margaret Morales; brother, David Morales; nephew, Marc Morales; and mother in law, Catherine Kavadas.
