Grace Marie Swift, age 69, of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016. She was born on August 16, 1946 in Accokeek, Maryland. Gracie was very active in the Opportunity Enterprises Community and was recently named client of the year. She participated in the Special Olympics many times and enjoyed having City Dinners with the Kiwanis Club. In her free time, Gracie enjoyed doing word search puzzles and playing cards, especially 500 Rummy, if she could keep score. She loved watching the Chicago Cubs play baseball. More importantly, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her aunt, Eleanor Fryar; uncle, Henry Smith; cousins, Marie (Jim Kish) Fryar, Belinda (Mike) Mraz; special extended family, Jim Rydlewski Jr., Kelly (Paul) Richter; Cole and Ava Richter; very special friend, Dougie Hybert; and her beloved family at Opportunity Enterprises.
Gracie is preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Smith. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the people at Opportunity Enterprises and the staff at Franciscan Community Hospice for the care they provided for Gracie.
A memorial service for Gracie will take place Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Opportunity Enterprises, Lakeside location at Lake Eliza, 32 South Fish Lake Road, Valparaiso, IN with Pastor Bob Burton officating.
