Gregory Francis Stofko, age 85, of Portage, Indiana passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016. Gregory was born on June 2, 1930 in New Eagle, Pennsylvania. He gave service to his country in the United States Army while stationed in Korea during the Korean War. He was retired after 35 yrs. of service in the Metallurgical department at Midwest Division of National Steel in June 1995. He and his wife Judith are members of Nativity Catholic Church in Portage where he served as an usher there for 47 years and was a Eucharistic minster for shut-ins.
Gregory is survived by his wife Judith (nee Lemons) Stofko of 50 years; they were married January 29, 1966; sister, Mary Catherine (Magnus) Wilson of Connellsville, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Nancy Redelmann of Tampa, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Stofko in 1942, brothers-in-law, Thomas (Frances) Taylor and Jerry Taylor; sisters in law, Sallie Herrman and his Mother and Father in law, Hazel and Elmer Lemons.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 directly at Nativity of Our Savior Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage, Indiana 46368. Cremation will follow with burial of cremains at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
