Gruja "George" Stanisic

Gruja Stanisic, age 92, of Hobart passed at home on Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born on May 25, 1926 in Mole, Yugoslavia to the late Alexander and Krista Stanisic. George retired from the Bud Company after 30yrs and Dinners Choice after 20 yrs. He enjoyed camping at Yogi Bear in Pierceton, Indiana. George was one of the first pioneer to start Soccer in Portage.

He is survived by his children, daughter, Cynthia; two sons, David and George, grandchildren, William and James Stanisic, two siblings, many nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy (nee Heller) Stanisic, his parents and six siblings.

A memorial service for George will take place Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342.
