Guadalupe "Lupe" L. Trevino-Houchin

Guadalupe "Lupe" L. Trevino-Houchin, age 72, of Valparaiso passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, in St Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Lupe was born June 21, 1951, in Laredo, Texas to Ruben and Olivia (Ledezma) Trevino. She retired from Inland Steel as a Personnel Clerk. Everyone who knew Lupe knew she loved her family fiercely. Family was and always would be everything to her. There will never be enough words to describe this beautiful, tough, wonderful woman. She will forever be in our memories and hearts.

Lupe is survived by her loving husband, John Houchin; her mother, Olivia Trevino of Dyer; four children, Marcus (Jean) Bass of North Judson, Lisa (Mahesh) Dahal of Lake Station, Brian (Melissa) Bass of Valparaiso, and Eliseo (Ailed) Gonzalez III, of East Chicago; her grandchildren, Arisella (Jerry) Cullick, Cecilia Robles, Reynoldo Robles, Jr., Celeste Robles, Demetrius Bass, Sarah Bass, Alyssa Bass, Anna Bass, Abigail Bass, Marcus J. Bass, Anthony Bass, Ramina Somy, Aliejha Cullick, Gabriel Gonzalez, Eliseo Gonzalez IV, Lanie Gonzalez, and Charlie Gonzalez; five brothers, Ruben (Tina) Trevino, Jr., Renee Trevino, Rick (Karen) Trevino, Jaime (Virginia) Trevino, and Roger (Harley) Trevino; two sisters, Maria Trevino-Gregor, and Rebeca Schauer; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Lupe was preceded in death by her father Ruben Trevino, Sr.

Visitation for Lupe will be from 2-4 pm Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342.  Her funeral service will follow immediately at 4 pm at the Funeral Home.  Per her wishes she will be cremated.
