GWENDA G. HOLLEY, age 65, of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at home. Gwenda was a former longtime Lake Station area resident and retired from U.S. Steel in Gary with 37 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Olive Chapter #396 of Portage and Aretas Temple #153, Daughters of the Nile.
Gwenda is survived by 2 brothers, Joseph Holley of Russellville, AL and James M. Holley of Rensselaer, IN, nephew, Michael H. Holley of Highland, IN, sister, Ann (John) Marcrom of Lake Station and other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, James L. & Lela Mae Holley. In lieu of flowers contributions to a local animal shelter would be appreciated.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Pastor Lorrayne Rizer officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, Indiana.
