HAROLD B. ANDERSON, age 96, of Portage, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Willows Nursing Home in Valparaiso. Harold was a longtime Hobart resident and retired mail clerk from the Hobart Post Office. He was a WW II US Navy Veteran and formerly employed at Jones & Frum Funeral Home for 8 years as a funeral assistant. Harold was a member of Hobart Masonic McClelland Lodge #357 F.&A.M and member of Barrington Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by 3 children: Karen Anders of Hobart, Randall "Randy" Anderson of Washington State, Dennis (Lucille) Anderson of Crestwood, KY, sister, Ethyl Purdy of Florida, 10 grandchildren: Debbie(Bob) Evans, Joe (Lourdes) Anders, Randy (Kerry) Anderson, Ron Anderson, Bob (Jen) Anderson, Russ Anderson, Rick (Jen) Anderson, Rodney Anderson, Roger Anderson, Amanda Anderson, 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Anderson, 2 brothers, Jack & Richard Anderson, son-in-law, Joe Anders,
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Pastor Mitch Whidden officiating.
