Harry E. Dickson, Jr. age 76, of Valparaiso passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was born on December 24, 1947, in Gary, Indiana to the late Harry and Evelyn Dickson. Harry graduated from River Forest High School in 1966 and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He owned and operated Dickson and Associates Insurance Company. He was a Mason and he loved cars. Harry was a talented singer/ songwriter and enjoyed playing guitar. He spent a lot of his free time outdoors in nature. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his son, Brian (April) Dickson; daughter, Julie (John) King; grandchildren, Nicole King, Kaci King, Riley Dickson; his former wife and dear friend, Patsy Dickson; brothers, Garvey (Beth) Dickson, Dr. David (Sandy) Dickson; sisters, Linda (Bill) Dishno, Janet (Sherman) Riggers; many loving family members and friends; and special friend, Laura Doxtater.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Evelyn Dickson; brothers, Gordon Dickson, and Harvey Dickson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harry's name may be made to the Porter County Special Olympics, PO Box 1662, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
Memorial visitation for Harry will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
