Heather LeeAnn Hackett Swan, age 48, of Gary, and formerly of Hobart, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025. She was born on November 28, 1976, in Crown Point, IN. Heather went to Hobart High School and finished her final year at Portage High School. She worked for many years as a server at T.G.I Friday's, Bennigan's, Golden Corral and Denny's, and also enjoyed working at Luke Oil Gas Station. Heather enjoyed shopping for antiques, crafting and cooking. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

Heather is survived by her mother, Tammy (Bob) Budzielek; brother, Chris (Sarah) Hackett; nephew, Caden Hackett; uncles, Keith (Kathy) Barclay and Kevin Barclay; cousins, Ryan (Ashley) Barclay and Stephanie (Lucas) Slavey; fiancée, John Yelachich and his children, Braden, Tyler, Madalyn, Zander, and Deegan; her dogs, Frank and Sam; other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Damon Hackett; father, Thomas Hackett; maternal grandparents, Don and Shirley Barclay.

Per Heather's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. There will be a Celebration of Life at a future date, which will be announced at that time. Cremation entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
