Helen Elizabeth "Betty" Patton

Age 79 of Lake Station passed away on Sunday, December 7,2025 at Northwest Health. She was born on November 22, 1946, in Lebanon, Tennessee to the late Helen (nee Collier) and Jack Patton. She graduated from East Gary Edison High School class of 1966. Betty retired from U.S Steel where she worked in the Coke Plant. She also worked for Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Portage. Betty was a woman of deep faith who loved the Lord with her whole heart. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, Betty especially loved sharing a meal from Taco Bell or McDonald's. A dedicated homebody, Betty cherished the comfort of her home and the peace moments spent there. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her sister, whose companionship meant the world to her. Betty's gentle spirit, steady devotion and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Patton, cousin, Robert Jones of Portage, numerous friends and other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Patton and her father, Jack Patton.

A funeral service for Betty will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Portage 6225 Lute Road Portage, Indiana 46368 with Pastor Bill Rogers officiating. Burial will take place in Lebanon, Tennessee. Visitation will also be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025, also at First Presbyterian Church from 3;30 p.m. until time of service.
