Helen Boblo

Hobart, Indiana

Helen Boblo, age 80, a longtime resident of Hobart passed away on May 4, 2011. She was born on May 8, 1930 in Gary, Indiana the daughter of Aurel and Mary Gavrila. Helen was a 1948 graduate of Lew Wallace High School and then worked as a bookkeeper for L.I. Combs and Sons. Helen was married to Richard Boblo on October 23, 1951 in Gary and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1999. Helen had a great passion for golf and was involved in many women's golf leagues including Indian Ridge and Cressmoor Country Club. Helen was proud of achieving two hole-in-ones during her golf career. She also enjoyed playing poker.

Helen is survived by her loving family; daughter Kim (Dave) Templin, Chandler, AZ, grandchildren Donald (Jennifer) Seitzinger, Phoenix, AZ, and Jennifer Seitzinger, Phoenix, AZ, sister Mary Pollitt, Chandler, AZ, brother John (Mary) Gavrila, Spring City, UT, other nieces and nephews, and other loving family and dear friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard Boblo.

A visitation for Helen Boblo will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home – Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm on Saturday with Chaplain Craig Forwalter, officiating. A private family burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
