Helen Finoli (nee Cyrilla), age 86, passed away on September 11, 2011. Helen was born on March 17, 1925 to the late George and Mary Cyrilla. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, bird watching, working puzzles, gambling, and cooking. She also loved being a grandma and a good party.
She is survived by her children: Joseph (Diane Bradford) Finoli of Lake Station, Toni (Dirk) Miller of Hobart, Sheila (Thomas) Menear of Valparaiso, Marisa (Joe) Eakins of Lake Station, grandchildren: Carrie (Rob) Bedwell, Scott (Kelly) Miller, Shawn (Jennifer) Menear, Amanda (Dan) Samuels, Brian (Angela) Menear, Shannon Menear, Craig (Brooke) Menear, Dawn Finoli, Joe Lazur, great grandchildren: Alexandria, Delaney, Caden, Carigan, Landon, Jillian, Felina, Xavier and Grayson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Finoli, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children's Hospital/ American Cancer Society.
A mass of Christian burial for Helen will be Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station, Indiana with Rev. Eduardo Malagon officiating. There will be additional visitation at church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. A visitation for Helen will be Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service.
